Established in 2017, Anderton McClements Residential Letting Agency, was founded by Amy Anderton and Emma McClements. Two women with one aim – to offer the best possible service in the property letting sector in York! The partnership created between us brings over 25 years in the industry and both being York born and bred, brings years of local expert experience to our venture.

A little background on us……..
After working in the brand and communications business in London, Amy has over thirteen years experience in the residential lettings agency in York, her home city. She provides valuable experience and insights into property management having being property manager within a large brand in York and managing over 400 properties and will ensure your rental/investment is maintained to the standard you should expect. She brings friendliness and efficiency to any situation, offering an effective service for both landlords and tenants in York.
Emma was previously a midwife for nine years before a career change back in 2007 into the residential lettings agency. Her passion for all things property and investment is palpable and has a wealth of knowledge to offer both new and experienced landlords alike in the lettings industry. Her strengths lie in her friendly and personal approach and ability to offer good, honest and sound advice to assist in guiding you simply and through every step of the process at your pace. Being York born and bred, ther is little she doesn’t know about the city of York!

As part of our landlord service we conduct a free market appraisal (valuation) to view the property and meet with you to discuss Full Tenancy Management to Tenant Find services but we appreciate you may wish for a more tailor made or bespoke package and we can adapt our services according to your requirements.
Maintenance and Repairs
We have an exceptional team of contractors we use on a regular basis who we have worked with for many years from our wonderful professional photographer, amazing handymen who can solve pretty much any issue to our qualified plumbers, electricians and decorators/flooring guys.
All very trustworthy and come with public liability and certifications.

Property investment advice in York is an important part of our business and one that we absolutely love talking about! We are passionate about assisting the journey into becoming a new landlord for the first time or indeed expanding your current portfolio and can offer sound local knowledge about what’s hot and what’s not! There’s nothing more we enjoy than our informal and relaxed chats with potential landlords where we pride ourselves on really getting to know you and building on that relationship to really understand your reasons for becoming a landlord and specifically your short or long term plan in order to advise accordingly. Anderton McClements Tenants Information
We let properties from a six month AST (Assured Shorthold tenancy) basis and will strive to assist in finding you the right home for your circumstances, however our tenant services are not limited to finding you a suitable property. We can offer you guidance and advise on the lettings process so you are informed every step of the way. Your security deposit is registered with TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) so you are safe in the knowledge it is kept safe during your tenancy. It may be that you are looking for something specific or in a particular area that you just can’t seem to find. Don’t worry, we are updating our properties all the time and often know of properties that are due to come to the market soon that may just well fit your requirements. It’s always worth just giving us a call and leaving your details so we can stay in touch.
We bring good news!!!!
As of 13/05/20 we’ve had confirmation from the UK Government that property sales and lettings can recommence in England. Property sales and lettings are one of the first areas of business to resume, however the guidance clearly states that this is not a return to normality. Click here for the Government guidance.
Although, we can now recommence our services in undertaking checkouts, and progression of new Tenancies, new processes must be put in place to ensure that social distancing and safety are the top priority. The focus remains on virtual activity in the first instance with physical viewings only taking place where there is serious intention to rent.
We are very fortunate in that the lettings transaction can be largely completed remotely. We intend to continue working from home where possible, any visits to our office must be by appointment only, with social distancing measures in place.
We do ask for your cooperation at this time as the transition from lockdown to returning to a ‘new normal‘ does take a little more time and planning to ensure we can act responsibly to ‘do our bit’ in protecting public health whilst working in the community.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your kind words, messages and understanding during what has been an unprecedented and sometimes difficult way of working, but we now look forward to delivering our services to you once again.
